Donald E.Westlake is the talented 'wild flower' in mystery/crime writing,a Grand Master who is highly known for his comedic crime with the Dortumnder series. Then writing as Richard Stark he has the Parker series, his darker side. Then his standalone books as this one, 'High Adventure'. Kirby Galway is a loner who has setup a small farm he has bought in the jungles of Belize in south America. He's a pilot and owns a small plane which he augments his income with charter flights and an occasional trip to Florida smuggling marijuana. Then with the discovery of Mayan temples and the lucrative price of their artifacts he comes up with a scheme that could make him rich. If only he could discover a lost temple, maybe one on his own land? He makes contacts in America and puts his plan in action and all is going well until things begin to unravel. This is a real great adventure only the talented Westlake could write. It's high octane, with thrills, twists and turns that's hard to not keep turning the pages with suspense on high throttle to the very end. Very entertaining - Gery
