The evil Ouriana has proclaimed herself Empress and is ruling the land with the blackest sorcery, turning men into monsters to destroy all who would oppose her. The only one who can stand against her is an infant, whose mother died in childbirth, who is taken away and hidden until she is grown and can learn to fight against the evil that has covered the land. I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.
