I'm the type of reader who loves a story that "grabs me" right off the bat. This story just didn't fit that at all. Ms. Hooper did fill most of the story with little hints that pretty much drags the reader on, hoping something will happen soon. The trouble is, while it's good to read about the characters so the reader knows a bit about them, the "something" you were hoping to happen didn't start showing itself until into the 20th chapter - and there's only 22 chapters to this book!
I'm sure the author has her followers, and more than likely will like this latest book of hers, but for me - I think I'll just stay away from her books. :o(
