The company w... more »as formed as the Crosville Motor Co Ltd on 27 October, 1906 in Chester by George Crosland Taylor and Georges de Ville. Though it was initially set up to manufacture cars, its first bus services began in 1909. In 1929 the LMSR became involved with the operator, and in 1948 the company passed to the British Transport Commission as part of the Tilling Group. In 1969 it became part of the NBC and the company's areas of operations were expanded, but the operator itself was destined to be broken up prior to Deregulation and Privatisation. The name itself finally disappeared at the end of March 1990. This colour album provides a nostalgic history of the Crosville company, covering the years from the mid 1950s to the 1970s.
