Book seven in the series. Who says "old people" can't have adventures ?

Seventh and final in this series. You could still enjoy it even if you haven't read the rest. I always like in a mystery when a recent crime turns up information about a crime in the past. This one doesn't exactly have a cold case, it's more like karma, perhaps...although a little hard on the newlyweds. I do wish Tepper had written more of these, but as she didn't, I'm going to re-read her other mystery series written as A.J. Orde.

Scarcely more than children, the newly wed, newly dead couple turns out to be mysterious in many ways. Where did they get all that money? What are their real names - and who are the families they are running from? A Shirley McClintock mystery, well-written and plotted by Oliphant who is also A. J. Orde.

WHEN MURDER PAYS A VISIT, THE HONEYMOON IS OVER.

They were scarcely more than children, these lovebirds lying dead in a New Mexico canyon. Shirley McClintock, owner of the Santa Fe guest ranch where they were staying, is baffled by the tragedy. Especially when almost everything about the couple turns out to be false, except the thousand-dollar bills they spent so lavishly.

Who were these mysterious newlyweds, and why are so many people looking for them? Shirley finds out the hard way--after more murder and the resurrection of an excruciating tragedy from her own past. . . .
