Anais Nin - exotic / erotic writing, it's the flavor and atmosphere of love, not the act of sex - it's difficult to interpret her work unless you understand her 'shadings'. I thought the book was an exquisite work, others apparently, did not find it worthy(?!?). If you enjoy erotica, then you will enjoy this book.

I loved this book which is actually just a portion of Anais Nin's diaries. To me, it's the most coherent and uniform section from those diaries whose entries can be lengthy. Easy to pick up without having read her other years.

My husband and I read this book together and enjoyed it very much. It does have alot of graphic sexual detail. We both enjoyed the honesty with which she describes her experiences. It truely is a journal of love.
