Great background of what America thinks about the Angels in their initial years. Makes one wonder if a group of people can actually be so animalistic.

A truly fascinating read of the (at one time) largest outlaw biker club. He truly got into the life and wrote an indepth story of the biker life. Very disturbing in parts it had me riveted to the page.

Very interesting to read this, among Thompson's early work. His manic madness, although understated, seeps out from these pages - at times explicitly so. He spent a year with the Angels, hanging out, observing, and - of course - writing. A fascinating tale.

Hunter Thompson's research on the Hell's Angels involved more than a year of close association with the outlaws - riding, loafing, plotting, and eventually being stomped. "A close view of a world that most of us would never dare encounter."
