When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be boring, but was in for a surprise when I found out that it was not only very intresting, funny and fast moving. Of course it had that happy ending, but it worked to get there.

A funny and thrilling tale, a delightful twist on the battle of the sexes.
This was not one of Jude Deveraux's best, but it's certainly a must-read if you're a fan of this author.

This is one of my favorite Jude Deveraux series of stories about strong women, and this one is an exceptional singer.

"Jamie Montgomery, an impoverished Elizabethan knight, is elated when he is assigned to escort Axia, the Maidenhall heiress, to the castle of her betrothed. If only she will fall in love with hames, the family's financial woes will be solved. But Axia is not the shy, cossetted flower Jamie expects."
