Heather King was born on July 19, 1952 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She is a commentator for National Public Radio's All Things Considered and the author of two books as well as many essays. King is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire (1977) and Suffolk University Law School (1984). King is a convert to Catholicism, which is the subject of her second book, Redeemed: A Spiritual Misfit Stumbles toward God, Marginal Sanity and the Peace that Passes All Understanding.
