Wow! Sam Lawson hadn't seen her in eight years, but Jillian Rodgers looked as gorgeous as the day she'd walked out of his life--their wedding day. As a youth minister, Sam taught forgiveness. So he'd welcome her back, as he would any friend. Besides, she'd returned to care for her ailing mother. He couldn't fault her for that.

But Sam couldn't forget the past, either. He also couldn't explain why he thought of Jillian every day, and looked forward to seeing her. Yet he wasn't willing to make the same mistake again--even if it seemed as if he and Jillian belonged together for good.

Sam and Jillian were college sweethearts who planned to marry as soon as "Jilly" graduated. Jilly, however, had a change of heart and left Sam at the altar to go off and pursue her dreams of making it big in the computer/tech industry.

Years later, Sam is the youth pastor at the local church and Jilly is moving back to town to help her parents traverse a difficult family time. Jilly realizes that walking away from Sam was the biggest mistake she's made in life and would love to see if the can salvage or reignite their old love.

Sam, however, was heartbroken by Jilly walking away from him and is not ready to even consider it. Only the conviction of his heart that he must forgive her to live up to the example he's been teaching to the youth may open the door of opportunity for Sam and Jillian to find their way back to each other.

Eight years ago Sam Lawson stood at the altar, ready to marry his childhood sweetheart, Jillian Rodgers... but Jillian didn't show. In fact, she hasn't shown her face to Sam for the past eight years and he has been just fine with that. He forgave Jill, but that doesn't mean he wants to see her or have anything to do with her.

For eight years Jillian has worked to build a name and career for herself. She has come home to visit family some, but always kept a low profile not drawing attention to herself.

That is all about to change. Jillian's family needs her and no matter how uncomfortable it will be to move back to her small hometown and be near Sam, Jillian is going to be there for her mom and dad.

As Jillian and Sam are thrust together, they become reacquainted and find that each is no longer the person they were eight years ago. Not wanting to pick up where they left off, they decide to see if the "new" Sam and Jillian are meant to be... in spite of the pain of past, the awkwardness f the present and the uncertainty of the future.
