Her Heart's Desire by Ruth Ann Nordin is a lovely story about friendship and love. Sally, the main character of this book, falls in love with Rick, a handsome new judge in town. The only problem is that Rick has his eyes and heart set on Ethel Mae, Sally's close friend.
Ethel Mae, having a lot of admiring suitors, doesn't enjoy Rick's company. So Sally, Ethel Mae, and Vivian, Ethel Mae's younger sister devise a plan to win Rick over to Sally.
During the visits with Rick, Sally and Ethel Maw have to act upon their feelings for Rick. The plan goes on successfully. Rick comes to Sally's house for dinner and then takes a walk with her learning what she enjoys and he also learns about her family and farm.
The plan goes successfully until Vivian blabs the secret to Rick who is not angered but very amused about it. He decided that if the cat can play with the mouse, the mouse is smaller and more clever so it can hide from the cat.The end of the book ends happily as Rick acts on his heart.
Overall, this book is a great story to read. The only things that bothered me is that this book is very repetitive in some things, and so reading the same things does get boring. Also, there are some very graphic and descriptive sections that are like PG-13 that only adults can read.I give this book a three out of four star rating and would recommend it to any adult.
