This is one of my favorite Linda Howard books....I've read it dozens of times. It's suspenseful, sexy, and my only complaint is that it's too short! This is my second favorite Linda Howard, but a close contender to my favorite, 'After the Night'.

You don't get a bigger Alpha male than this one. A quick, hot read that also addresses domestic abuse.

Michelle leaves an abusive marriage and comes home to take over her father's ranch after his death. She is in debt and all alone, so when her neighbor John strongarms her into accepting his help she finds herself ensconced with the man she has been in love with for 15 years. John is a typical Howard alpha male hero and the story contains typical Howard sensuality. Good, quick read.

Michelle Cabot has inherited her father\'s Florida cattle ranch -- and a mountain of debt. To make matters worse, a huge chunk of that debt is owed to the neighboring rancher, her nemesis John Rafferty.

Nothing shocks Rafferty more than discovering that the spoiled, pampered rich girl he once despised is painstakingly trying to run the Cabot ranch herself, working the land with desperation the only thing she has left. He likes this new Michelle and decides to make her his woman. What he doesn\'t know is that underneath Michelle\'s cool, polished façade lies heartache, secrets and the raw determination to live life as her own woman. But Rafferty isn\'t about to take no for an answer.

Linda Howard is an author that always delivers a good read. Michelle inherited her father's Florida cattle ranch & a large debt to go with it. Most of the debt is owed to the neighor John--oh, oh! Romance & suspense, you can't go wrong.

Once again, Linda Howard, has a strong domineering male hero, but you gotta love those macho men.
