Suzanne Brockmann has given us a true hero in Heart Throb. Jed's struggle with alcoholism is uncomfortably realistic and his vulnerability is touching. Kate has her own demons as well, making their story memorable. I've never been on a movie set, but the descriptions and personalities were believable. This is my first book by Ms. Brockmann, but won't be the last!

I love everything Suzanne Brockmann writes! This was a nice change from her Seal books.

This is a very angry story. It's supposed to be a romance and I'm sure it will eventually get there at some point! It's hard reading as the hero (Jed) is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic and no one in the film industry wants to give him another chance, so he's angry and disgruntled. The heroine (Kate) is a flat-out bitch and nasty to boot (though I guess they could be one and the same). If I didn't need this book to finish a challenge this month, I would have deep-sixed it. I'm sure it will turn out fine but God what depressing crap.
UPDATE: This story was just depressing and rather boring! They are filming a pre-Civil War movie about slavery - UGH! Not a topic I ever read about or watch movies about as it's just so depressing and a rotten time in our history that we should all be ashamed of. Not even the interaction between Kate and Jed was exciting. Just blah blah blah over and over again. YUK!

I loved this story! I thought Jericho and Kate were very well drawn. At times I liked the supporting characters even more. A well written book overflowing with interesting characters. The realism added by Jericho's alcoholism was not overdone, in my opinion.
A quick but enjoyable read. I couldn't put it down.
Suz Brockman is a great writer and I have read everything she ever wrote to date. The only thing I found a little tiring in this book was the fact she constantly focused on the issues of being an alcoholic (which the main character was). I think as readers we did not need to have those issues repeated a number of times. We understood them when we read about them the first few times. However, it is still worth the read because Suz Brockmann is a great writer.
Brockmann is an awesome author! Her characters are well-developed and she really lets us get into her heroes' heads.
An early book by Brockman who is known for featuring Navy Seals in her romances. This one is set on a film set.
Jericho is an very talented actor with problems who wants to make a comeback. In order to do this he signs a contract with top producer Kate O'Laughlin. The contract gives her authority to supervise his every move.
Great read! Good romance..great characters, well developed, and book holds your interest!
Once voted the "Sexiest Man Alive," Jericho Beaumont had dominated the box office before his fall from grace. Now is he poised for a comeback with the role of a lifetime. He wants the part bad enough to sign an outrageous contract with top producer Kate O'Laughlin---one that gives her the authority to supervise JB's every move, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
