While to premise of the story is good, the drawn out detail of everyone and everything made reading the book a bit tedious. The author did a good job of creating the characters and building suspense of where the story is going, but the concern that the other books of the series may be as tedious make me hesitant to get them.
This was a very enjoyable start to a trilogy. It has lots of action, some humor, strong female characters, and many fantastic creatures, both good and bad.
