It's a really heartfelt book, a true story on a couple of special but troubled kids, each with their own stories. I strongly recommend this read.

Back of Book says: Eleanor Craig's dream had always been to help troubled kids, even if it meant turning her backyard into Camp Hopewell. The reality, however, meant coping with twelve severely antisocial younsters on a day-to-day basis. On a typical day you could find a slim blond girl of 13 sitting on the flagstone terrace moaning and clutching her stomach...a jpale, chubby teenager screaming at his mother, "I'll die if you leave me here!:...a wild-eyed boy disrobing and racing toward the swimming pool shouting, "K-k-k Pow! Recycle the force beam!" It wasn't easy, but for this one special summer, reaching these'unreachable'kids with love and caring was something gifted teacher and therapist Craig just had to do.

I say: A gripping memoir. Not for the faint hearted. Written with intense honesty about herself and her family and their problems, as well as the problems of the youngsters she reached out to.
