I have Healing Stones as one of my favorite reads in 2008. I loved the mix between real life situations and a therapist's point of view. You fall fast when you see an affair from the eyes of the adultress and see how it affects everyone involved. Many twists and turns as this book has suspense and intrigue, healing, forgivness and a lesson on judging others.

Sullivan Crisp is a un conventional psychiatrist. He uses games show to make his point.
Demitria is ending a affair with a colleague. While she is on his house boat, they embrace in a passionate farewell and someone snaps some photos of them together.
Then his boat catches fire. The next day her husband gets the pictures of Demi at work, and she is also called in a meeting at the college she works.
She is asked to resign, and Dr. Archer is missing, he fireman husband has asked her to leave.... she is crushed.
She finds a apartment and meet Dr. sullivan crisp. He starts her on a healing journey, only he has his own demons to battle daily.
This is a very good book and the characters are very well written, i do not usually read this genre but this was very good.

My book club read this together and one of the gals said "every married woman needs to read this book!" It gives a true look at the ripple of hurt that an affair can cause. Yet it also shows why the world needs more grace and understanding. A wonderful depiction of how the world is not black and white and we need to remind ourselves when looking at the lives of others that we never know the whole story.
Healing Stones is one of the most worth reading novels I have encountered this year. The plot is complex enough to keep your interest and the characters have depth and believability. I felt that I had been counseled by a wonderful Christian counselor as I applied the truths learned by the characters to my own life!
Really good novel -- has stuck in my mind long after reading it. Very heavy beginning (not surprising since this deals with adultery), but still found that I read the whole story in one day. I liked it alot.
I really enjoyed the the journey this books takes you on from Demi's affair coming to light the damage it causes to learning what it really means to be a Christian who can forgive, even if is yourself. This is not the typical Christian fiction that tends to be predictable or over simplified- it is real. Sin has consequences but there can be healing.
Well written. Quite a thought provoking story. Things aren't always "happily ever after" and this book prepares one for an ending either way.
