Great book and a greater author. These books can be hardly found in your local Barnes & Nobles but are excellent. This is high fantasy, with a dark undertone, at its best.
Blase. Hawkmoon isn't as likable as Corum, not nearly as ultra-tragic as Elric, and the adventures aren't as original or interesting as Bastable's. He never meets any other incarnations of the Eternal Warrior[Brass doesn't count imo], and at the last, he has the gall to not die. I mean, come on!
This is the third volume in the Eternal Champion series, compiling the sword and sorcery sagas of Michael Moorcock. This one contains the novels "The Jewel in the Skull", "The Mad God's Amulet", "The Sword of the Dawn", and "The Runestaff"
