This book fascinated me as much as the first installment, The Hollow. The love story between Abby and Caspian is utterly wrong but so beautiful! In the first book Abby believed she was crazy! Crazy to believe she was in love with someone or something that was suppose to be dead! Her discoveries at the end of The Hollow lead to a long stay with her Aunt who helped her find her way. Only to return home in the second installment, The Haunted, to be right back to square one. CRAZY... Crazy in love with her dead boyfriend...
New colors (tales) weave in and out of the beautiful fabric of the story! When this saga finishes it will be a beautiful beautiful (did I say beautiful) tapestry of lyrical delight. Does that make sense? I must not make any sense because I am so captivated by the book. I should have waited a day to write this review because my mind is reeling...
I read this book in two days. Purchased it the day it came out, read a chapter, resolved to finish the book I was already reading, then immediately opened the Haunted again once I finished my other book. I couldn't put it down. It captivated me as much as the first book. Jessica Verday captured the innocence of true and timeless love. Every exhausted flick of my eye was focused on finishing another page of the story.
My only dissapointment in this book...
Is the wait for the next installment. Please Jessica write fast!!!
This book is totally appropriate for young young readers and totally engrossing to us old 30 somethings like myself who want to escape in a world of fantasy and love!
So Ms. Verday are you done weavingbthe next book yet??

Phenomenal continuation of the first book, The Haunted picks up the pace a little bit as Abbey is trying to return to a normal life. The mystery surrounding Kristen's death begins to unfold, as does that surrounding the rest of the characters introduced in the first book. While a lot of sequels have a tendency to fail to live up to the previous stories, this one did not disappoint. I could not put this book down for even one minute! I am so anxious for the next book in the series!

Abbey's recovering from her broken heart and nervous breakdown after learning the truth about Caspian. She relocates to her aunt's house, but is called back to Sleepy Hollow for a bridge dedication she must deliver in her dead BFF's honor.
Abbey isn't sure she can handle everything, especially when she sees Caspian for the first time. It's a relief to know she's not crazy, though. Soon, she's spending her summer scooping ice cream, studying science with Ben so she passes Chemistry, and hanging out with Caspian.
There's one moment where she thinks funny and sweet Ben could become something more than just a friend. Is he interested in her? But it doesn't really matter, because she can't stopping thinking about Caspian. Is she falling in love with a ghost? Could her destiny involve a dangerous life turn?
I really loved this dark tale that included humor, heartbreak, and an undeniable love between two people. It continues with the first book, THE HOLLOW, perfectly - and I can't wait to read the conclusion with THE HIDDEN. As Abbey unravels more and more about Caspian, she also reveals more about her own future.
I love watching her world change and become entwined with the Sleepy Hollow legend.
