This is the first book published in the US by this Canadian author. The book tells the story of somewhat damaged people living in rural Ontario trying to make a living from farming even as big business is trying to push them out--unitl they find a way to get even! I found it a bit hard going at the beginning, but once the more intensely plotted part of the book kicked in it was a fun read. It has just the right balance between character and plot development.
