Harvest Home
Author: Thomas Tryon
It begins in drowsy, sunlit tranquility. The inhabitants of Cornwall Coomb form a closeknit community. They follow the old ways and their livelihood comes from the land. Theirs is an exclusive group; not everyone is welcome

Leaving city life for the country, Ned and Beth, with daughter Kate, are cautiously welcomed new arrivals. But Ned soon discovers there is something sinister lurking behind the homespun facade.

Bwahahah.

Written in the '70's and reads like the '70's. Still a very good read. I grew up around the Amish in Wisconsin and found a thrilling familiarity with the old-timey people of Cornwall Coomb.

Before Stephen King, there was Thomas Tryon. A young couple move to a new town and immediately sense that there are some peculiarities. It is a very close-knit and tight community, almost incestuous. They meet and become good friends with a couple where the husband is blind. Special emphasis is placed on the big harvest time and especially the customs & traditions associated with it. I read this when I was 15 and it frightened me back then. Something of a thriller!

"Superbly haunting," "A chiller among chillers," "A brilliantly imagined horror story," A stunning mixture of horror and suspense," are quotes from some of the reviewers of this incredible book by Thomas Tryon. Excellent!! (I own 2 of the same book, and am keeping one to read again!)
