This is your basic policy procedural. If you like the first half of Law and Order tv shows, this is a book you will love.
I have read all of McBain's books and this one is good, though maybe not as much as some. Unfortunately, he isn't going to be able to write the next one on "The Deaf Man" which is implied at the end of this book.
