My favorite Jack Reacher novel to date. Jack finds himself helping a man whose wife has been kidnapped, only to find it is a more complex situation than he believed it to be. Jack is at his finest in this book. The action is great, and it's got a great twist 3/4's of the way in. Once again, Lee Child has show that Jack Reacher can get the job done the way no one else can.
Helpful Score: 4
Another great Jack Reacher story involving murder, kidnapping, hot money and even a little romance. As we've learned in the past, Jack can handle it all. Hard to put down.
Helpful Score: 3
One of the better Lee Child books, in among others that are very good, but this is one of the best. Twists and adventure, not too much extraneous tangents.
Helpful Score: 2
Another excellent 'Jack Reacher' novel. I couldn't put this one down!

This is one of the best stories I have read in Lee Child's series featuring Jack Reacher. The writing is tight and within a couple of pages it has you hooked. You feel like you are on a wild ride with a guy that doesn't miss a thing. I was immediately caught up in this mystery and enjoyed the fact that when I read it, everything that happened seem logical and not forced to make the story work. The characters were fully developed and the plot was fascinating. Not just a "who dunnit?", but also, why and how. I would have liked the bad guys to suffer more (an indication that Lee Child really had me invested in the story). This was one of those books where I started getting anxious as I realized that I was reaching the end. I was definitely caught up in the tension in the story, but my real anxiety came from knowing that I only had pages left of "The Hard Way".

Fast paced, keeps you guessing. This time Reacher runs into a soldiers-for-hire operation. Lane the leaders wife and stepdaughter have been kidnapped. On the way to finding the victims reacher discoveres a dirty secret. Reacher knowes he should quit, but the life of two innocent people are at stake, he can't.

Reacher really rocks! Can't believe Lee Child has done it again!! keep them coming!!!

Lee Child's books get better and better! Reacher is awesome. His word pictures suck you in right from the first sentence.

Another excellent Jack Reacher novel. Jack thinks he is helping find a missing, beloved wife and her daughter.Truth is stranger than fiction, and Jack finds himself doubting everything he sees and hears..rightly so. A great read, set aside an afternoon, you will not be putting this one down anytime soon.

This is the first book I've read by Lee Childs. Although it is not my usual reading material, I had a hard time putting it down once I started. It didn't matter that I was unfamiiar with the main character, Reacher. A pageturner if ever there was one.

I think this is about the tenth or so Jack Reacher series book. Even though it is part of a series, this one can easily stand alone. I love Child's style and I guess I'd have to admit, I love this character. His "take-no-prisoners" ethic, combined with his intelligence and gusto, makes him hard to resist. This is no exception to the others of the series. Quick-paced and very satisfying.
Occasionally, I knew I should have found some of the situations questionable but Child makes it totally believable. I figured out a crucial element long before Jack did and that made me a bit disappointed in him, but hey, he's only human. I'd definitely want to have Jack Reacher on my side.
I can hardly wait to read the next one!

A Jack Reacher story. Lane runs a highly illegal soldiers-for-hire operation. He will use any tool to find his beautiful wife and child. And Jack is the best man-hunter in the world. Another breathless Jack Reacher high-speed thriller.

Another super entry in the Reacher series. This is no. 10 in the series and Lee Child has not slacked off. I know some series books seem to deteriorate as the series progresses but with Reacher this is not the case. In this one Reacher is minding his own business drinking a coffee on a New York street corner when he witnesses a man getting into a car which turns out to be part of a kidnapping case. Of course Reacher gets involved and dragged into the case. The woman kidnapped is the wife of the head of an elite mercenary group. But all is not as it seems. Reacher ends up traveling to England and the last 1/3 of the book takes place there including the climatic finish. Another high recommendation for Reacher!

WOW! One of his best yet.

Jack Reacher, retired MP, is hired by a man who will pay him a million dollars to get his wife back. This book has lots of twists and turns and will keep you wanting to read one more chapter. I really enjoyed this book but there again I enjoy all the Jack Reacher books.

Great bbok - Lee Child has become one of my favorite authors.

The latest in the saga of Jack Reacher. Something of a hero. I have read them all. If you like what is almost a modern-day Superman rescuing damsels and others in distress, I would heartily recommend this series!

This is a very engrossing book. It is fast paced and suspensfull.
This was the first Lee Child book I've read & I loved it! It was a fast read & kept your interest throughout the book.
Great story. Enjoyed the book.
Another Jack Reacher winner
This was not my favorite in the series as I felt it dragged a bit in the middle, but Lee Child makes up for it with a rip-roaring, nail-biter of an ending! There are no duds in this series so far!
Solid page-turning thriller. Fun but not memorable.

first time I read this author - I loved it
A good suspense novel. Jack Reacher sometimes comes across as too cold blooded and violent in how he solves people's problems, but in this book the bad guys really had it coming. (Martha's husband)
One of my favorite Jack Reacher books
As always, Lee Child's Jack Reacher is a fantastic read. I read all his books in order and think that's the best way to do it. The writing and the character keep getting better. A must read!
One of the best Jack Reacher books, in my opinion. Fast-paced, complex, and some nice twists along the way. Jack uses his past experiences and intuition, not to mention the other characters around him, to unravel a case that is not what it seems in more ways than one. The ending is intense and well worth the wait.
Wild ride of a plot
Excellent read. Jack Reacher does it again! Thrills, and twists and turns.
Another good Reacher story!!!
The movie turned out good and Cruise did a good job is getting the character and who cares if he has on a new jacket or an old one and 'no' the car wasn't his

awesome read...
A typically good Jack Reacher thriller.
Loved it! This story was very exciting, it had me guessing even though I thought I had figured it out. I thought in earlier books that Child's writing was getting repetitive but I'm thankful for that. I think I was reading the books too close together and I needed to space them out.
I appreciate the time Child takes with each character so we can get to know them in some sort of way, And I enjoy the fact that what we see through Reacher's eyes, I can easily picture in my head. Nothing in the book is a "throw away" meaning anything that is mentioned in the book means something, big or little. So far, this is the best story I've read so far, I was interested the whole way through.
I usually don't like to talk about the plot because I prefer people to start reading...plus they usually find the plot summary written somewhere else so I don't like to repeat stuff here. But basically, Reacher has been hired to find a kidnapped wife and her daughter and it goes from there. I don't really care why or how it got to New York (he's already been there before). After reading a not-so-good book before this was a breath of fresh air!
On another note, I saw the trailer for "One Shot" which has been re-title "Jack Reacher". Mistake number one and I know why they did it. They want to jump start on a possible franchise (in Hollywood who wouldn't!) I know it wants to focus on the main character and who is but it's not like he's a household name. I think they by getting the word out early that Cruise was the main character, movie goers would google Jack Reacher and find out who he is. I was already a fan so I wouldn't know if it worked.
Mistake number two - wardrobe and the car. From all the books, Jack is no nonsense when it came to his attire-used, a little umkempt, almost a little dirty, just the basics. In the trailer?? Too clean and new and never did I ever read that Reacher owned a leather jacket-I could see maybe an old used bomber jacket but not a slick cool one. It's not his style. Plus the car!! The trailer is showing some impressions shots of the car. Grant it, it doesn't indicate that the car is his but I think it might be misleading.
As for Cruise, I'm getting use the him being Reacher. I can actually see it. I just hope that I see Reacher and not Tom Cruise when I see the movie. It's going to be difficult but I'm willing to give it a try.
Well, I'm going to take another break and read something else before I read the next Reacher novel. And I'm already looking forward to it.
Thanks and happy reading!!! =)

Good book, in good condition. Thank you.
Another great Jack Reacher book. I'm going to try to read them all. It's nice to be able to read them without worrying about the order as Lee Child seems to jump around with Jack's life.
Typical Lee Child book. Interesting, hard to put down and an easy read. I know that you will enjoy the way Reacher works through his dilemmas.
I am absolutely hooked to this series of books. Can't wait to find out what is next for Jack Reacher!
Reacher gets involved helping the head of a mercenary group to get his kidnapped wife and daughter back.
But all is rarely as it seems and this is no exception.
Just the right blend of interesting characters , violence and unexpected twists in the plot !

Lee Child lives in New York City, and maybe doesn't own a car, but really, he should let Jack Reacher get a license so he can live a normal life.
Great - really enjoy the Jack Reacher series.
Enjoyed it.
This was a can't put down book. Just when you thought you had it figured out something different popped up. I would recommend it highly.
Another excellent Reacher novel by Lee Child.
A Jack Reacher novel. A fast paced thriller. On the trail of kidnappers Jack leans the truth about his employers. Nothing is what it seems. Great read.
His books are ALWAYS good!
Another GREAT Jack Reacher story.
Jack Reacher is my personal hero. He is so straight forward and only deals with the facts. I love how he goes around the country dealing with real people and puts paid to the debts they owe society.
Reacher seems very real, solid. Like the way it would feel to bump into him in an alley somewhere. He has mass. Most characters in books are either squeaky clean (too good to be true) or they have obvious tics made up to make them look real. Reacher is the real deal. No excuses.

Another great Reacher story. What can you say he's an Alpha guy all the way.
Jack Reacher is the kind of guy that you know will always come out on top. He's clever and resourceful and doesn't mind using his skills to kill the bad guys. Fast paced and exciting.
This was one of the best books I've read all year. Reacher is such a fabulous character; I loved the way his mind worked. Suspense right up to the end. Can hardly wait to try another Lee Child "Reacher" novel.
good read
another great Jack Reacher novel
Excellent read.
Another Jack Reacher book. For those of you who do not know of Reacher, you might say he is supereman without the cape, x-ray vision, and those silly tights.Another excellent read.
Another great Jack Reacher novel.
True to form!
Reacher is at his decisive best in this book
A straight-ahead, high octane thriller, enjoyed it very much. You won't want to miss it.
Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it soaking up the hot, electric New York city night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercerdes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money because Edward Lane the man who paid it would do anything to get his family back. Reacher knows that his employer Edward Lane is hiding something. Somethng dirty, something big, but he's already in way too deep to stop now. And if he has to do it the Hard Way, he will.

Good read for Reacher fans!
One of the best series I've come across, Jack Reacher is a superior protagonist.
Not the best Reacher book, but still entertaining.
Typical Child with Jack Reacher in full swing.
This is one of the best Jack Reacher novels. Great

On the trail of a vicious kidnapper, Reacher is learning the chilling secrets of his employers pastand of a horrific drama in the heart of a nasty little war. Hes beginning to realize that Edward Lane is hiding something. Something dirty. Something big. But Reacher also knows this: hes already in way too deep to stop now.

10th in the Jack Reacher series.
typical fast-paced Jack Reacher novel with a plot that even seems to throw Treacher off.
As always, this latest book in the "Jack Reacher" series was great. Looking forward to the next one!
Plot is a bit slow. I found myself falling asleep on more than one occasion, but once things got moving then I couldn't put it down even though the plot was a bit predictable.
he is my favorite author
You cant beat this series. . .I rec you start at book 1
I have a hard time putting down any of the Jack Reacher books.
They keep me on the edge of my seat and always provide a twist to keep me alert and guessing til the end.

As usual, good book from Mr. Child.
As always a very good quick read
Another excellent 'Jack Reacher' novel. I couldn't put this one down!
One of the best Reacher books I've read, although I figured the plot out at P. 250.
One of the grittiest and most violent of the Reacher series. Nobody does it better than Lee Child. What else can be said?
another winner.
I love the Jack Reacher series! This was another great book.
another of Lee Childs good books.
Brand new in the Reacher series. This is actually the British publication, not sure it's even released in US yet. I love this series, Reacher is as enigmatic as always. Highly recommended
another great addition to the jack reacher series
According to the back cover, Jack Reacher "has never met a woman who said no." Obviously, he hasn't been listening very hard.
