A story of two brothers--one a rookie police officer, one a recently returned Vietnam veteran--caught up in the chaos that engulfed D.C. in 1968. The most powerful book yet from George Pelecanos.

A Derek Strange novel. It's interesting how Pelecanos seems to be working backward--although this is a later novel in the series, he's moving the chronology back. A character who was a grown man (and a drug dealer) in the earlier novels is an infant in this book. Excellent mix of fictional characters and historical fact.
