I enjoyed the light romances presented in this book, actually two books in one. The first is The Lord of the High Lonesome about a ranch manager Kat Bonner and a English Baron, Reese Talbot who takes over the ranch. I enjoyed reading this. The other, Heart of Stone is set in a New Hampshire inn during a snow storm. Cute and fun story.

Two stories, first about a cowgirl and the baron who owns the ranch she loves. Of course, there are set ups, stand offs and hot tempers, with Christmas spirit at the bottom of it all.
The second centers around a struggling New England ski resort with a hot shot CEO appraising the staff. Nice female characters with gumption and talent, modern values.

Janet Dailey at her best in this dual Christmas book.

Two great short stories about soul mates finding each other. For such short stories, the characters were well developed, especially in "Heart of Stone," the second short story.

Christmas season actually doesn't play a major role in either story.

With a powerful winter storm on the way, ranch manager Kit Bonner has her work cut out for her--and meeting the new owner of the Flying Eagle is most definately a distraction. Just because ruggedly handsome Reese Talbot happens to be an English baron--well, that doesn't mean a thing. But his low voice is like the whisper of the wind over the wild land she loves--and she can't ignore the way her heart is beating...
