This was my first Mo Hayder book and while a little drawn out longer than really needed, it was still entertaining. The author gives hints into certain events occurring between the two sisters, Zoe and Sally, when they were young, but we're never given details, which is frustrating. I also found myself getting angry at Sally's teen daughter and how she's not made to take responsibility for her actions that throws her and her mother into serious life-threatening situations. Also no desipline, AND she's allowed to go on a trip that she was told she wasn't allowed and that Sally didn't have the money for, which, again leads her into a serial killer's path.

What I did like was the language and words that were used, being English (the country), and different from American-speak. I liked the various "crimes" and how they were solved, and how things weren't sugar-coated (Zoe's rape).

All-in-all, a good book and I would give this author another read.
