This book had all the vibes for a great, scary book to read around Halloween. Sadly, it did not fully hold up to that vibe. It did have some spine-chilling parts throughout the book but for most part it was just okay. I think the biggest reason I had a hard time settling into the book was the characters. I just didn't like them. The kid was okay but for most part, they had no redeeming qualities. Great cover art though!
A couple of things... for those who might be bothered... there is a graphic animal abuse scene. Also, I want to give a shout out to Saga Press for the free copy. Much appreciated!
