John S. (scruggs1) reviewed Hands-On General Science Activities with Real-Life Applications : Ready-to-Use Labs, Projects, Activities for Grades 5-12 (J-B Ed: Hands On) on + 2 more book reviews
Pros:
Each section has fairly informative content preview that contains relevant information.
I suppose some of the "activities" could be interesting to students as a brief introduction to the content. This is a good book if you have a substitute and want something for your students to be able to do with a modicum of interest while you are away. If you want crossword puzzles, fill in the blank charts, and other similar "activities" this is your book.
Cons:
I think the title is a little misleading. I was hoping that this would be more of a lab manual, but it is nothing of the sort...however, that was my assumption and if you are looking for something that fits the category described in the 'pros' section above, this fits the bill nicely.
