This is a great book. I've made may of her recipes and we love her lemon meringue pie. it's so yummy like the old type back in the 50's

This is a beautiful book. It is filled with stories from Maya Angelou's life. Each story is followed with recipes that accompany the story. Some of the recipes weren't for me (for example: the one's you needed lard for and most of the meat dishes.)Don't get me wrong the recipes were great recipes, just mostly not my style. However there was enough recipes in the book that I want to now try after reading it to cause me to keep the book on my bookshelf. That said the book is worth buying for the stories alone and I'm sure everyone will find at least a few recipes they'll enjoy. There are also many pictures of the recipes for those who need pics. I always like pics with my cookbooks.
