Great fun! It is a unique look at how one life is affected from events around them. It is an environmental lesson from a worm's perspective. Have shared this book with many friends- some who were reluctant to return it.

Every office at my entomology department had a small bulletin board just outside the door. This was so faculty could post class announcements and scientific papers. I decided to devote my bulletin board to arthropod cartoons. Most of the time when I left my office there would be one or more people---faculty, staff, students, visitors---looking at the board. And I often posted new cartoons and pulled off older ones. A great many of these cartoons were by Gary Larson, a person who understood the humorous side of arthropods.

So, like many reviewers on Amazon, I was somewhat disappointed with this book by Larson. It just didn't seem to have the same quirky humor of his cartoons. And I agree with many of those reviewers that the book is inappropriate to young children, especially the 2-page spread at the end.
