A trilogy of novellas by Lori Foster, Susan Donovan and Victoria Dahl.

From one who owns her entire backlist, all I can say is Lori Foster has lost her mojo. She's joined Nora Roberts and Stephanie Laurens in the club where the same book is written over and over again with the names changed.

Of the three stories, Susan Donovan's is by far the best, but I have to say I'm quite disappointed overall. Two stars max.

I bought this book because Lori Foster has a story in it. How disappointing that it was basically the same story she has written before. I do lover her style, she just needs a new storyline, which I think is coming in a new series this one is supposed to have introduced. Though I am not sure how the new series is introduced. It is all very vague.
Donovan's story is OK. Didn't even bother with Dahl's--too boring to suffer through a short story.

The only saving grace to this book is the story by Susan Dovonan's "Gail's Gone Wild." Gail Chapman is the single mom trying to get out of her shell vacationing in Key West with her teenage daughter and her daughter's friend. Her neighbor, Jesse, is a famous writer but would like to keep this from Gail since he has been burned before by gold diggers. It was sweet and sassy with some nice dialogue. It stood up to what I expect from Donovan.

The other two story I got halfway through and couldn't finish it. I was so disappointed especially because I really like Lori Foster.

"Ready, Set, Jett" by Lori Foster just went in circles. I had no idea where this story was going and Natalie and Jett just didn't do it for me. Also a lot of their thoughts and feelings, even the words used to described them were very redundant. Jett came off as a manipulative jerk who really only wanted more than a fling with Natalie because she didn't want more than that. And for someone who wanted more than sex, he used sex a lot to get his way. So the story made no sense and I really wonder if this new series Foster is writing will be any better.

"Just One Taste" by Vicotria Dahl started so promising. But really one-third in I have to wonder if Beth was still stuck in junior high where she can't be seen with certain types of guys. Eric was actually an interesting character but getting over Beth's immaturity was just too much to work through.

Overall if you can get this book from the library, Donovan's story is a lot of fun. But I wouldn't spend credits or money on this one.

Excellent stories. Dahl and Donovan are autobuys but I was impressed with Foster's story.Foster's story "Ready, Set Jett" is a prequel to her new series Men of Honor. Althought it does not introduce the characters at all. Dahl's story "Just One Taste" is also a prequel to her new series Donovan Brothers Brewery.

All three short stories are hot and steamy, just right for a summer day at the beach! don't forget to take a dip in the water to cool off...you'll need it!

Usually I'm irritated by anthologies because I feel like the stories are so short you can't really know the characters, but this one was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed Foster's story because I'd already read When You Dare, so the characters were already known to me. Donovan's story was lots of fun. She writes about real people rather than perfect stereotypes and I'm looking forward to reading her other books. Dahl's was irritating because it's clearly an intro to her "hot new trilogy coming soon" so you don't feel like you're finished reading even when the story ends.
