Dani Ross's pursuit of a graduate degree is cut short when her father suffers a heart attack. Returning home to New Orleans to oversee his detective agency, she discovers that the business is floundering because it lacks a reliable male investigator. Just when Dani is about to lose hope, in walks Ben Savage, an enigmatic, slightly arrogant ex-police officer.

Very convoluted plot. Writing style is so-so. This is the first book by this very prolific author that I have read. While it kept my attention, it didn't really draw me into the rather one-dimensional characters.
