Read The Belgariad first or you will be confused!
The magical extension of the prophecy left me a little cold, but the story is good and it kept me turning the pages.
fun "escape reading"

This is the 1st book in the second part of this series by David Eddings. This is my FAVORITE Sci-Fantasy series ever!!
couldn't dredge up enough interest to continue past the first few pages
The Cycle begins anew. Garion faces his greatest fears.
excellent series.
This book starts the follow up to the Belgariad series, which you should read first. I really enjoyed Belgariad, but I had a hard time getting into Malloreon. I find Ce'Nedra (a fairly major character) to be really, really annoying. She didn't play as major of a role in Belgariad, so that was ok, but now, every time she was in a scene, I would cringe. All the other characters are great, and it was nice to have some closure on the whole story. A good, but not great read. It can be somewhat predictable if you've read any of Edding's other books.

A good book.
I loved the whole series and almost all of his other books.
A sequel to THE BELGARIAD---
Garion has slain the evil God Torak, and fulfilled the prophecy. But suddenly another prophecy is foretold. Again a great evil is brewing in the East. And again Garion finds himself caught between two ancient Prophecies, with the fate of the world resting on him....

From the back of the book: THE DARK PROPHECY Garion had slain the evil God Torak and been crowned King of Riva. The Prophecy was fulfilled---or so it seemed. While the strange child Errand was growing up in the Vale of Aldur with Polgara and Durnik, showing only occasional flashes of inexplicable knowledge and power. Garion was learning to rule and to be the husband of his fiery little Queen Ce'Nedra. Eleven years passed.
Then suddenly the Voice of Prophecy cried out warning: "Beware Zandramas!' Not even Belgarath the Sorcerer knew who or what Zandramas was. But Garion discovered hints in a previously obscured part of the Nrin Codex. Worse, he learned that the Dark Prophecy was still waging its ancient struggle against the Prophecy of Light. Again, Garion found himself a pw\awn, caught between the two ancient Prophecies, with the fate of the world somehow resting on him.

I haven't read this one. Was given to my daughter, but she thought it was more of a "guy" book.
