Summary:
Kendell has a special talent. She can find missing objects and learn about people just by touching them. This is quite nifty if you are being hired to locate missing relics, which she is, of course. Nathan Larra hires Kendell and his employee Jake to go on a dangerous mission to find a box. This leads the two to Italy to a lost monastery that supposedly holds the relic they are searching for. Unfortunately, there trip is not as simple as it seems. Not only are their guards that they have to deal with, but they also have to deal with a man that is known as the Reaper. Along with lust, hotel mistakes, pain, mystery, and a few almost scary parts, book one sets us readers up for an exciting series.

Review:
The one thing that I did not like about this book is that you are dropped right in without any knowledge of anyone. It takes me awhile to care about characters when I don't have any back story or history with them. I started to like Kendell, mostly because she has a snappy attitude that puts people in their place. I did not like Jake. I actually still don't really like Jake. I wish I knew more about his background that may make him endearing, but right now he just is a prick. Nearly everything that comes out of his mouth is just wrong. If I could cuss him out, I definitely would. This leads me to not really like the budding romance between the two of them. So, for a romance book, that's not a great rating.
Lucky for me, this is more of an adventure book than anything else. It is reminiscent of Tomb Raider, where a kick butt chick scrambles through enemies in order to achieve her goals. The psychic aspect of the story just adds to the adventure. I read through the novel in two days (which is super fast for me). It just kept me turning pages. I'm excited that there are more to come.
