A real page-turner! This is not your normal courtroom drama and, in fact, very little of the book takes place in a courtroom. I would classify this book of Mr. Martini's a "thriller" that involves, politics, terrorism, murder and suspense. From the first page of the book, I was hooked and could hardly put it down. I spent all afternoon reading because I just had to find out what happened. :) I recommend it heartily.

Too political, too much foreign stuff, too much description of everything and way way too long--I gave up after 150 pages, just couldn't get into it.

Paul Madriani leaves the country just one step ahead of the police who want to try him for murder. Just ahead of the Federal Government who want information he has from his client. The client he had to leave behind in order to prove her innocence AND his. He has stepped into a Cold War secret with terrifying consequences along with a psycopathic killer who wants to kill his client and him. It is a great book, very well-written as all of Martini books are. I couldn't put it down. I totally enjoyed it.

Possibly the best book that Martini has written.

While I enjoyed the story, there was way too many pages spent on describing the technical aspects of this story. If I wanted to read scientific journals, I would. All in all, I was disappointed with the book since I usually enjoy this series. It was riveting enough that I kept reading, although there were many pages I skimmed.

I really liked this story - great plot twists and turns. Enjoyed the multiple settings of the story from Costa Rica to Mexico to San Diego. Character development was full, with Katia Solaz being a memorable beauty and Emerson Pike as an old Cold War remnant focused on an old nuke, with some real basis in fact from the Cuban missile crisis. Definitely worth a read. I'll probably purchase a few more novels from the Paul Madriani series.
