Helpful Score: 2
I've read the original two Jumper books by Gould so I was really excited to read this.
Note: This is called Jumper Book 3, however it's really a prequel to the movie. The story and characters all come from the movie, not from the previous books.
Gould creates another exciting Jumper adventure this time surrounding Griffin O'Connor before he meets Davey Rice. Griffin (Jamie Bell) was one of the bright spots of the somewhat oddly different Jumper movie. I hope this character is central to any movie sequel.
The story starts with Griffin's parents getting killed and follows him as he is constantly on the run from Paladins who are always right on his tail. Lots of action. Gould really tightens up the Jumper universe as portrayed in the first movie. A little bit more clarification to how Jumping works and some insight into the Paladins themselves.
If you go into this knowing it's tied to the movie and not a direct sequel to the books, you'll be fine. And it's a fun, quick read.
