I really enjoyed this book on Greenspan. It's not overly technie about the banking system, and I learned some things about his first career (as a musician!) and the influence of Ayn Rand and the Objectivist school on his thinking. Of course, this book was published before the economy tanked in 2008. But great background reading for anyone who wants to know how the FED interacts with politics at the federal level.
