If this book was made into a movie you wouldn't believe it. In fact, it was made into a movie which you shouldn't believe, as the Hollywood screenwriters took their normal, excessive liberties with it. But it is based on a true story.

As a former Marine officer who served in the Greater Southeast Asian War Games myself, I can understand why a former Marine---the author John Donohue---would do something this crazy. Why? Hey, he was a Marine! And I feel proud a former Marine did what he did.

After you finish the book, you might want to watch the documentary when all these guys---well, most of them---get together decades later.
