I have read many of Rachel Ann Nunes books and enjoyed most of them, but this one is one of her best. It tells of two orphaned children having to live in horrible conditions with a alcoholic aunt. It tore at my heart so see the life they were forced to endure. It also gave me great hope in mankind as the children were helped out of that life by good people that could show love to complete strangers. It made me want to do what I can for those less fortunate than me.
