There are photos of beautiful quilts and easily pieced or machined blocks inspired by the quilts from each time period. Each block (after being referenced to the antique quilt that inspired it) is shown in vintage/reproduction fabrics, and then more modern/favorite colors. A colored draft of suggested layout is also shown. All but a few are fantastic and I feel giddy trying to think which one should be my next project!
All are 9inch blocks and are clearly printed full-sized (just remember your SA).
The instructions are in a very brief format, but if you're a beginner and not familiar with how to sew "ABC to DEDr (2 times)" please don't worry - it makes perfect sense after you look at the block diagram and sew it through in your head a few times!
The more geometric blocks (and there are plenty) would be easy to speed-piece and lend well to adapting to different sizes (if you are using precut strips).
There are fabulous applique blocks too! I have grand plans to get a few favorites programmed into my embroidery machine to speed up the process!
