This isn't your typical blood and guts horror novel. It's more a creepy, disturbed version of the hotel's reality. A group of people take a tour of The Grand Hotel. The permanent residents of the hotel tell their stories of how they came to be there. A young girl is in the tour group. The night manager of the hotel who is leading the tour takes an interest in her. Could she be the one?

Although I figured out pretty early what role the night manager thought she might play, I didn't figure out the night manager himself. There's a definite creep factor here. Some of the stories have some rather gruesome parts, but that isn't the focus of this book.
