What a delightful journey through the years of vauderville, radio and television in the early days with two incredibly funny, loving and hard-working people, who brought with them their famous playmates like Jack Benney, Cary Grant, Mryna Loy, Fred Astaire, and so many other famous Hollywood entertainers and movie stars who got their start at the very beginning of that industry. This is a thoroughly clean, entertaining, humerous exposition of George Burns and his wife, Gracie Allen who made generations laugh and laugh. In this book I find George really downplayed his part in their act. Gracie was a smart woman with an incredible memory and acting skills
to pull off the acts George put together. They were both brilliant and just two hardworking, devoted-to-their-craft people who fell in love and spent the rest of their life together truly loving each other, being funny and pulling "funnies" on their famous friends.
This book was a total delight as well as a romp through an era of very interesting history. I learned a lot while chuckling a lot.

Well worth reading - even if you never knew that the ditzy commedienne Gracie Allen once ran for President of the USA.

I enjoyed "Gracie" -- as long as I remembered to take it "with a grain of salt". George paints a very pretty picture of their relationship. It is interesting to learn a bit about the vaudeville life. If you are familiar with vaudeville performers, you'll find it fun to be reminded of their antics and characters.

Delightful bio of Gracie Allen written by Beorge Burns. Filled with humor it gives a lovely picture of this woman..who was just not the crazy nitwit we all saw on Television. High recommend!
