Take 3 of Batman's most cunning female villains, mix in a level of "reform", and put them all in the same townhouse. Each Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn, have their own motivations for maintaining their current status in life, and each has her own interpretation of what "living on the other side of the law" means (as well as which side IS "the other side"). Mix in a reformed maybe E. Nigma better known as The Riddler, acting in the role of private detective; after all, in its most basic form, what does a private detective do but solve puzzles? AND, some other villains that may not be happy with the life choices of the characters already mentioned here, and have rather violent ways of expressing their displeasure ...

Gotham City Sirens was a fun read without descending into camp. All characters had their light moments, and all characters had their serious times. All lead characters showed they could live in and follow the rules of modern society, but all also showed their willingness to bend those rules when they deemed it appropriate or necessary or simply expedient. AND, while this collection of reprinted comic books left a hanging subplot or two, it basically concluded with an actual conclusion I HATE buying a collection that suddenly stops at the last page with expectations that I'll need to purchase the next in order to find out what happens! That might be OK with a comic magazine, but I expect more from a collection. This one delivered.
