What a great novel! Lovie is the storyteller, a woman who owns a small dress shop in Manhattan and holds dearly onto all the dark secrets of her clients. Two of them, Dinah and Avis, she went to boarding school with and they've stayed friends though-out the years. But now Dinah and Avis's children are in a relationship and hopefully all those secrets - stay secrets, or not only will their relationship be in trouble, but the three woman's friendships and those that it affects - much like a domino effect.

From their time in the boarding school, through marriages, divorces, child rearing and more, Gossip spans many years of the three friends but is all told in Lovie's voice. If you love reading about the trials and tribulations of friendship, along with the deep bond that women can create, as well as reading about gossip, then you'll love Beth Gutcheon's newest endeavor. The story builds and builds until a stellar climax that has me thinking days after I have closed the book. A great beach read this summer!

Set in New York, three friends who met in boarding school find each other again and cross paths in many different ways through the years. With husbands, lovers and children making appearances, the cast of characters was huge and came in and out of the story. Lovie is the main character and I loved her growth from an outsider in boarding school to the one who heard all of the gossip in New York, I didn't love her friends as much as I loved her.
