Not as flighty and frivolous a book as the title might suggest. It's all about relationships and the compromises necessary to maintain them. How do we maintain our individuality? Fanny (the wife) has given two decades of her own life to being the "good wife." Was it worth it? Could it be time for a change? By the author of "Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman."

This book was great! It was frustrating because it was a bit like life. The wife had to fight so hard for someone to care about her, and she isn't vengeful; just wants to have some life. It was more than I expected; it wasn't pat; it was messy the way life is. I really liked it

A good read... I finished it in a day. It is a feel good book for us women of a certain age...

You can go home again. Life can be rewarding if you live for yourself. After, years of marriage and being taken for granted a woman finds the will to enjoy life for herself. ahhh! that so much better without the burden of pleasing everyone else.
Didn't care for the writing style....moved a little slow.
Funny with a twist of revenge that really makes you want to be in her shoes just so you can do a few of these things! A great read.
This is an entertaining story that takes place in England and the wine countryside of Italy. I recently finished it and enjoyed it. The British phrases are funny, and the characters are ones most of us could relate to in some ways.

Loved it.I find Elizabeth Buchan's writing style very enjoyable. She held my interest throughout.
Another book by the author of Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman. This time, the wife has been in a marriage for 19 years, raised a child, and been the perfect wife to an ambitious, idealistic politician, and shared their home for almost the whole time with her husband's alcoholic sister, but she is feeling increasingly restless and begins to wonder if it is all worth it.
A very good book. Can't wait to read others by this author.
