Since this is the third volume, it helps to know the story from the first two issues, but this volume can mostly stand alone. It's a really excellent collection, and has some of the best writing in the series. This book gets right to the heart of things between Francie, Katchoo and David. A nice departure from the usual superhero tales in comics - this one is like a manga romance done American-style.
