Flannery O'Connor's last years at her farm in Milledgeville, Georgia during the 60's is at the core of this emotionally charged novel that I will remember for a long time. I don't remember the last time I've read a novel that made me so emotional. The tragic lives of Ann Napolitano's characters made me so much more intersted in them. Though with the tragedy comes moments of comedy that add to the richness of the novel. The characters are people I could've imagined that O'Connor really knew. The characters are so real, flawed and you could see parts of yourself or people you knew in them.

Overall, I really liked this book very much. There were some things I felt were inconsistent with the time setting, but the story was quite engaging. I liked the references to O'Connor's writing and found it plausible that she may have written and acted in the way the author wrote it. Parts were heart wrenching and inspired emotions that I don't usually have when reading fiction. To me that's the most amazing thing.

I'd recommend for a great read.
