All I will say, is that I adored the way Michael Lee West wrote these lovable, quirky, fault-ridden yet, charming Southern characters! I grew-up in the South and there wasn't one character in this book (Miss Dora, Teeny, Coop, Red, Ava- etc.) that I felt I didn't know at some time in my life! To me this book was just fabulous. This is the first time I've ever read any of Michael Lee West's work and it definitely won't be the last. Due to the ending sentence of this book, I hope to be reading a sequel very shortly!

This is a very quick-moving mystery, that doesn't make it too easy to figure out who the murderer is. I like the fact that the author doesn't give too much away too soon. Also, Teeny is a traditional Southern cook who whips up some yummy (& some dangerous) recipes. I enjoyed Teeny's forays into the kitchen with her family cookbook. It made Teeny a character that I could really identify with and enjoy.

Usually, I'm a bit conservative when it comes to lots of cursing in books and this book does have its fair share of cursing. For some reason in most books the cursing comes along at all the wrong times of the story and really doesn't add to the plot. In this book most of the cursing seems to be "natural" as far as the personality of the characters & the mood/setting of the conversations between characters. It doesn't seem as forced as it does in many books I've read.

The way I judge a book? When I have to put it down, do I long to pick it up again and start reading? "Gone With a Handsomer Man" made me want to read it again and again! Hands down 5 stars!

loved this book. It was a 1st read for me by this author!

The characters are loveable (Miss Dora,Teeny,Red,Coop,Ava..) They are quirky and have their faults, yet have a southern charm.
There was not one character that I didn't like. This book is fablous. The one liners that are delivered made me smile and laught out loud. Makes you think... I could have said that, but didn't! LOL!

This is a fast moving mystery story and author Ms. West does not make it easy to figure out who the murderer is, which was a plus. I could identify with all of the characters, Especially Teeny in so many ways, you really feel for her problems. She is a southern cook with a twist,an interesting cook book for her recipes and her dangerous recipes that were great!

I highly recommend this book, and hopefully we will see much, much more of Teeny and the crew. This is a book I would keep and read again over and over. It was so easy to get into, I didn't want to put it down, and really didn't want to. We need a sequel! This will make a great series. Keep up the good work Ms. West!

Cute & fluffy chic lit. Not my normal genre, but the stereotypical southern characters made me laugh. (Definitely some racy little love scenes.)
