This was a fabulous read. I followed a suggestion in the introduction.
It indicated that a note in the margin meant you could hear Min Kym perform the number selection at that point in the book. I listen to the album on Pandora (free) at each point indicated when it came in the story. The book would have been fabulous even within listening but it added such a delight to the story. She is a genius on the violin and I shall play her music often but feel compelled to give others the opportunity to enjoy her story. A real education to the discipline and intensity it takes to perform at that level.

Gone: A Girl, A Violin, A Life Unstrung, a memoir by Min Kym, a story of grief. What makes Ms. Kym's journey unique is that she is a virtuoso violinist, and her grief surrounds the theft of her Stradivarius violin. The single minded focus of a virtuoso is both the strength and weakness of this book for that focus embeds in the writing style. However, I am so glad to be introduced to Ms. Kym's performances, and her music will remain part of the music of my life.
