I've never read anything quite like this book. It's about an engineer who goes to an alien planet and undergoes a transformation of her core beliefs based on what she sees and experiences on this barbaric planet. It's brutal, bestial, harsh, but there is a well constructed plot and detailed description of the alien lives and beliefs.

A really great read.
