I'm pretty picky when it comes to reading romance novels because it's so hard to find stories that stand out from all the rest when it comes to plots and characters. That said, this was a wonderful story! I had a hard time putting it down and found very little wrong with it (in my opinion). It's a series I'm addicted to and I will even be sticking this one in my hubby's TBR pile because I think that the sci-fi aspect of the story will get him hooked. :)

Wonderful book! Drift off to a world of fantasy & romantic tension. So far my favorite in the Goddess Summoning series. Goddess of Light is a great sequel to this.

A beautiful and magical love story. A refreshing change to the traditional Persephone/Demeter myth.

I enjoyed this one much better than.the first one, Goddess of the Sea. This book had a great buildup to the love story and it flowed wonderfully and wasn't forced or rushed. A wonderful love story between Persephone and Hades. Finished this book two days ago and can't get it out of my head. One of my favorite reads.

I felt that the god of the underworld should have been more interesting than Hades was portrayed. If I'm reading a book where the hero is the Lord of the Dead I'd like for him to be a little less sensitive and a little more dark.

Very magical and exciting. The book is so descriptive, I could actually imagine the surroundings. Very romantic and sensual. I couldn't put it down. I liked it better than Goddess of the Sea.
very good read
PC Cast writes a fantastic novel. Very rich in details, emotion and atmosphere. So far, this is my favorite in her 'Goddess Summoning' series. I loved the interaction between Hades and Persephone's fill-in, the mortal Lina. Very well done!
I really enjoyed this book. Can't wait to read the others.
Much better than her first book in this series - the characters live, breath, you feel for and with them!
I'm already in heaven! Fabulous! I might be a little biased though...just a little. From the beginning I've been so intrigued by the wonderful characters. I could have just read the story of the baker, with no supernatural stuff at all...it was so wonderfully written. And I just adore fantasy, so the whole Olympus thing is really a treat. But what prompted me to jump up and start my review is the detail of the palace...and the gemstones! As I happen to be a gemstone artist...irresistable! Giggle! Okay, I have to get all the rest of this series now!
I'll write more when I've finished.

I enjoyed this book far more than I ever expected to. I place full blame on the character of Lina who is wonderfully fleshed-out, incredibly relate-able, and totally charming. I also enjoyed end-of-the-book Persephone and her sass. I loved that this book was full of interesting, strong female characters. Of the three men in the store one was an unfortunate gay stereotype (worth the loss of a star on the rating alone), one was super annoying, and one was basically there for the plot. I didn't find any of them particularly interesting. That being said, Hades didn't HAVE to be interesting, because as much as this a romance story, it is clear that Hades isn't the only reason that Lina belongs in the Underworld. She creates friendship and community and those things are just as important to her as her relationship.
I haven't read a lot of romance novels in my life, but this is a great example of doing it right.
